Brand History

Petzl’s story begins in the 1930s in southeastern France, when craftsman Fernand Petzl was introduced to caving. Back at his workshop after each excursion to the depths, Fernand imagined new tools for exploring darkness and heights. In 1968, he marketed his first products; in 1970, Petzl was born.
