In a small attic in Sheffield in 1981, it was here that Rab Carrington made the first sleeping bag to bear his name. Word soon spread and the Sheffield attic became a factory floor, creating sleeping bags and jackets for people all over the country. Now decades later, these designs can be found all around the globe. From Himalayan peaks to cold evenings around a campfire.
With partners, Rab have identified opportunities to develop materials that reduce their environmental impact whilst maintaining performance. Using more recycled fabrics and challenging manufacturing processes are two of the radical steps they took reduce their carbon footprint and in 2020 became a certified Carbon Neutral company.
